hey convict :: slow mo no beard

Melbournites Tamas Jones and Jason Evans made this mix just a couple of weeks ago after the great reception to their Time To Noodle Mix which has been garnering some great feedback here in M town and further afield in Londres and Japan.

Tamas has been DJ'ing around Melbourne and interstate for the last eight years during which time he also worked as a promoter bringing DJ's out to play. His DJ (that's dayjob) is as a member of the Topolux collective of architects and he has also written extensively for various street press publications. Jason Evans is a music guru, DJ and promoter and will shortly be leaving our shores for a stint overseas.

Well part 2 has been up on this site for some time in the mixes section, a reference in it's description pertaining to the elusive part one. A few people have been asking if we were planning on putting it up so here it finally is. With it's more rigid 4/4 selection, this first volume makes an interesting companion to the more eclectic selection on part 2. Tracks from Theo Parrish, Four Tet, Burial Mix, Losoul, Recloose, Soul Capsule and more. We have included a link to part two here also.

metro area :: live mix

Listening to this collection of songs lovingly mixed by Darshan Jesrani and Morgan Geist, it's not hard to see where the inspiration for Metro Area's music comes from. Recorded live in Chicago, this is one hour and 2 minutes of disco, boogie, electro and proto techno that your ears will thank you for.
