gigs :: no standing

No Standing and Revolver are thrilled to announce the return of Aloe Blacc (Stones Throw, USA). Hailing from California with a Panamanian background, Blacc is firmly at the forefront of the nu-soul r-n-b revolution, with his debut album “Shine Through” a firm favourite in DJ crates, radio stations and magazine columns around the world. Effortlessly drifting between English and Spanish, latin, soul, r-n-b and hip hop, “Shine Through” gives you a glimpse of the future of soul with punchy rapping, delectable vocals, dreamy melodies and an understated melancholy that transfers beautifully in his live performances. Blacc will be DJing late in the backroom and performing some of his own material live. Supported by Melbourne’s super-soulful diva Paris Wells, the ever-funky maestro of the melody, Kano, No Standing mastermind Rambl and a special versus set from Ben Stacey and Troopz, this promises to be a night to remember.
